Unofficial Build of XBMC for Android Allows HD Playback, Includes a Friendlier Interface

Unofficial Build of XBMC for Android Allows HD Playback, Includes a Friendlier InterfaceAndroid: It seems like we've been waiting forever to get XBMC, our favorite media center application, on Android. We haven't seen an official, stable release yet, but a new user-friendly build from the XBMCANDROID team is available now. Here's what you need to know.

Right now, the official builds don't support hardware acceleration on most devices, which means HD video is out of the question. This build, however, leverages the use of third-party players?like the MX Player listed at the link below?to play those HD videos. The user interface is also much more friendly than the nightlies and beta we've seen before, and it even comes bundled with a few add-ons and the ability to use it as your default launcher. Head to the XDA Developers thread below if you want to try it out.

Update: As many of you have pointed out, this is not an official version of XBMC for android from Team XBMC, but from the XBMCANDROID team. Our apologies for the mistake. We've updated the post to include more info on what this version does.
